Melton Hill Lake Dock Builder
Melton Hill is a narrow river reservoir on the Clinch River, held by Melton Hill Dam near Lenoir City. It winds past Oak Ridge and the western edge of Knox County, and it is known for calm water that rowers love.
Most of our work is on Fort Loudoun and Tellico, and Melton Hill is part of our service area. A narrower lake changes the design brief: docks sit closer to the channel and the opposite bank, so layout and length matter more than on a wide-open lake. We look at all of it on a site visit and handle the TVA permit before anything is built.
“Taylor and his team were professional, knowledgeable and very responsive. The attention to detail and quality construction was outstanding.”
Questions
Do I need a permit to build a dock on Melton Hill Lake?
Yes. Boat docks and shoreline work on Melton Hill Lake need a TVA Section 26a permit before construction starts. We prepare and submit the application for you at no charge; the only cost is TVA’s own application fee.
How far can a dock extend on a narrow lake?
It depends on the width of the water at your lot and TVA’s guidelines. We measure on site and design within those limits before anything is submitted.
Planning a dock on Melton Hill Lake?
Tell us about your shoreline. We’ll walk the site, talk through options and apply for the TVA permit for you.
