Dock Builder in Loudon
The City of Loudon sits along the Tennessee River about 25 miles southwest of Knoxville, off Interstate 75. It was incorporated in 1927 and is the county seat of Loudon County. For lake homeowners, the county’s biggest draw is Tellico Lake. TVA’s Tellico Reservoir reaches into Loudon County, and seven of Tellico Village’s eight neighborhoods are in Loudon County. Watts Bar Lake runs through the county too. DOCK&DECK builds custom boat docks for Loudon homeowners on main-channel and cove lots, plus decks, outdoor living spaces and pools at home.
Building Boat Docks in Loudon
Most of our Loudon work is on Tellico Lake. On the main channel, a dock has to handle open water, wind and boat wake, so we size the pilings, framing and roof structure for that exposure. In a cove, the width and depth of the water off your bank set how far the dock can reach, which way the slips face and how the walkway meets the shore. Our own crew designs and builds each dock around the lot, the slope of the bank and how you use the water.
On the Watts Bar side of the county, the reservoir begins below Fort Loudoun Dam and flows from the northeast to the southwest through Loudon County. Open stretches of Watts Bar see more wind and boat wake, so we size the structure for your lot’s exposure, the same way we do on Tellico’s main channel.
TVA Permits for Loudon Docks
Boat docks and shoreline work on Tellico and Watts Bar need a TVA Section 26a permit before construction starts. We prepare and submit your TVA permit paperwork at no charge. You pay TVA’s application fee. Some neighborhoods and jurisdictions require their own approval before a dock can be built. It’s the homeowner’s responsibility to know what their subdivision or jurisdiction requires and to let us know, and we’re glad to assist with any additional permits.
In Tellico Village, the POA’s Architectural Control Committee reviews shoreline permits for docks before they go to TVA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and only lots with shoreline privileges can apply. We can handle that ACC application along with the TVA paperwork.
Shoreline Stabilization
Wakes from passing boats wear away an unprotected bank a little more every season. We install riprap shoreline stabilization, either as part of a new dock project or on its own for a lot that already has a dock.
Decks & Outdoor Living in Loudon
A deck or covered outdoor space should fit the house and the way you use the yard. We build composite and hardwood decks, with privacy screens, stairs and multi-level designs where the lot calls for them, plus covered pavilions, outdoor kitchens and patios. On a lake lot, one team can plan the deck, the way down to the water and the dock so the details match.
Pools & Hardscapes in Loudon
Pools are built by Tennessee Pool & Spa, our pool division since 2020: same team, same standards. Planning the pool, patio and deck together keeps the details consistent across the backyard.

The other is a cupola-roof dock with an enclosed storage room at the end of a long walkway with rope railings. Under “More of our work on Tellico Lake” are two docks nearby in Vonore: one at the end of a rope-railed walkway, with a boat lift, jet skis on drive-on ports and a covered lounge beside an enclosed storage room, and one with a long railed walkway and open-sided covered slips with lifts. We don’t have a Loudon deck or pool project in our gallery yet.
