Covered slips at Lowe’s Ferry Marina on Fort Loudoun Lake in Louisville at sunset

Fort Loudoun Lake Dock Builder

Fort Loudoun is Knoxville’s lake. It begins where the Holston and French Broad rivers meet downtown and runs past Louisville, Farragut and Concord to Fort Loudoun Dam at Lenoir City, the first dam on the Tennessee River.

That stretch covers everything from busy channel frontage near the city to quiet coves in Blount, west Knox and Loudon counties, so there is no single right dock. We look at how deep the water is off your bank, how much wake reaches it, and how you actually use the lake, then design and build the dock, roof and lift around that.

“Despite the TVA limitations, Jason found a way to go above and beyond for us. We couldn’t be more pleased with our dock.”

Questions

Do I need a permit to build a dock on Fort Loudoun Lake?

Yes. Boat docks and shoreline work on Fort Loudoun Lake need a TVA Section 26a permit before construction starts. We prepare and submit the application for you at no charge; the only cost is TVA’s own application fee.

Can you work on the channel side near Knoxville?

Yes. Heavier boat traffic near the city means more wake, so we size pilings, framing and the walkway connection for it and talk through slip orientation before anything is drawn.

Planning a dock on Fort Loudoun Lake?

Tell us about your shoreline. We’ll walk the site, talk through options and apply for the TVA permit for you.
